Staff Transitions

22 July 2010 No Comment

I wanted to let you know the details of some of the upcoming staff transitions within CAM.

KATHRYN HOM: On July 31, she will be transitioning to her new job with Inter-Varsity Fellowship as their Senior Administrator for the Greater Los Angeles Division and Los Angeles Urban Project.

She has been apart of the Creative Arts Team as a Volunteer for 2 years and more recently as paid staff.  She has been on a journey this past year in understanding what God has planned for her life. And luckily for us, we have had the privilege to be apart of it. She has been always gone far and beyond the call of duty and will truly be missed.

NEAH LEE: As you have heard, Neah will be joining our team as a Resident Artist with Emphasis in Worship starting August 1. She will also be joining us at the staff retreat.  If you haven’t got a chance to meet and hear her story, please take some time during the retreat to do so. That is, if you can pry her away from Nancy.

What is a Resident Artists?: This is a new role we created in the Creative Arts, where Newsong and the Artist commit to walk along side each other and help each other develop towards what God has planned for them. Neah will a part of the Creative Arts Ministry and some of her responsibilities will be to care for the worship team and lead worship. But her primary duty will be to work along side Nancy in designing our Sunday experience. She will also be encouraged to explore and develop her music.

NANCY LUYEN: Nancy is now the Producer for our Creative Arts Ministry. Her responsibilities will be work along side Neah and myself, to design our Sunday experience. She will be focused on volunteer care & producing/programming of Sundays. She will also be leading a visual arts team as well. She will take on more of the Sunday to Sunday responsibilities.

KEVIN SHEPARD: He will transition in to becoming a key strategist in helping me with the Story Curator role and the our online presence strategy. He has worked diligently with Justin on the new iPhone app and fixed our podcasting systems. He was also on staff at Willow Creek. If you have a Willow Creek DVD, there is a good chance Kevin worked on it.

SAM SONG: I will continue to lead our creative arts ministry as the Creative Arts Director. I will continue to work with Dave G. in series planning, lining up the speakers as well as other special guests. However, I will be experimenting with the Story Curator role, which is to Discover, Express and Display the stories within our church. This will also involve our online presence which includes Global.newsong.net and newsong.net.

The rest of the team will stay as is.
David Hom: Media Manager
Neil Hamaura: Tech Director
Ron Schwing: Tech Director (A1)
Cassidy Roach: Special Ops (Moderation)
Justin Nassie: Communications
Sara Nguyen: Formerly known as the Hub
Eddy Kim: Core Volunteer (Strategist)
Johnny Leou: Performance Arts

Hope this provides a clear picture of CAM’s staff transitions. Thanks! Let me know if you have any more questions.
