Who are the Artisans?

According to wikipedia:

“An artisan (from Italianartigiano) is a skilled manual worker who crafts items that may be functional or strictly decorative, including furniture, clothing, jewelry, household items, and tools.”

But here is how I define it in our context.

“A creative that take what is already there and creates a new expression of it. Artisans are craftsman, artists, and storytellers. GOD is the Artisans’ Muse”

In Genesis 1, God created.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

In John 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

God has created. He brought light into the world. We as his creation are only a reflection of this light.

As Artisans, we don’t create anything new but we reflect God’s glory with the talents we are given. We express His Love in the only unique way God created the artisan to express. Whether through Music, Poetry, Films, Lighting, Culinary Arts, Fashion, Dance, Film, etc… Artisans take what is in our hands and use it as an act of worship. And in the overflow of worship, people around us meet and experience God. God does the supernatural. We do the natural.
